I don't know what to say!

You might want to sit down.

I really am lost for words, I don't know what will happen next and I haven't been through anything like this before.  I can't see how Brown can stay as Prime Minister but I don't believe he will step down either.

He is losing cabinet ministers at an unprecedented rate and the kind of battles that Maggie faced behind the scenes in 1989/90 are being fought via the media and in the public eye.  Surely this makes his position untenable.

Yet.

If he steps down or is ousted a new unelected PM will take over, I cannot see the British public standing for that.  The new PM will have to call a General Election almost immediately which against the backdrop of division and in fighting they are bound to lose.  Probably badly.  Who on earth would want to do that?

So I'm lost!!!!  Give me a clue, what is going to happen?

Forgive me for being an ignorant American who only knows about how things work over on THIS side of the pond but I'm willing to wager that Brown will serve out his term but be terribly "disgraced" a la Bill Clinton for the remainder of his natural life.

Bill Clinton, as you may be aware, is an American hero.

This, my friend, is Bizarro World after all.

IMHO Brown should be locked up for deliberately destroying the country and leading it into the rabid jaws of Socialism... but that's just me.

Election in October. Simple.

James: Brown will announce his resignation within the week. Why? Because there will be more resignations from the cabinet and senior colleagues - people he has known for decades - will tell him his number is up. He can't reshuffle his cabinet. No-one wants to join it. For a man who coveted the PM's job for so long, it is a sad end. In some ways my soft side is coming out and I am feeling sorry for him, even though I know he has brought all of this on himself. He has briefed against so many people over the years, his past is coming back to haunt him - and knife him too.

Really hope that Gordon hangs in there for as long as possible and the Labour Party completely implodes.

Good riddance!

He won't resign yet.

He will try to fill the cabinet with non-politicians.

He believes he has the right to be Prime Minister, it is what he was born to do.

My primary loyalty is to James Cleverly and David Cameron. Whatever gives them power suits me.

'Parliamentary & Economical reform' (From the 1784 Conservative (Pittite) manifesto on which Pitt & Wilberforce were elected.)

Let's rock like it's 1784! C'mon! Get in there!!

Hang tough Major James. We will do this!

OK gotta sleep, going to the count early doors.
