The man who killed Jimmy Mizen has been sentenced to life in prison, to
serve a minimum of 14 years, after being found guilty of murder.
Jimmy had gone out to buy his first lottery ticket the
day after his 16th birthday died after an unprovoked attack by 19 year old Jake Fahri.
The Mizen family have been strong and forgiving under circumstances where anger and blame would have been more than understandable. My thoughts are with them.

This might offend those with liberal sensibilities, but the death penalty needs to be reintroduced.

The advances in science since the death penalty was last around have made yours a moot point Jimmy. It's time you liberals started putting the rights of the law abiding public in front of those of the criminal - for too long now this has been the other way around.
What nonsense. We continue to have miscarriages of justice all the time, including in the last few years. Think of the recent spate of mothers who did not kill their babies, but science said they did, so they went to jail. In your world these mothers would be dead as well as their babies.
Anybody who is in favour of the death penalty must be prepared to accept the deaths of innocent people, in cases that will never be reopened and sentences that cannot be revoked.
In America they have far too many people sitting on death row, in jails just like convicted murderers in this country. The only difference is every so often, when politically expedient, they kill one of these people, some of whom are innocent in the eyes of most people outside the US legal system.
Next thing you will be arranging mobile execution vans that can harvest the organs of those sentenced to death, just like in China today.
I'd rather have the death of a load of criminals on my conscience as opposed to the deaths of the hundreds of innocents slaughtered due to the fact that the liberal beliefs of people like you have given the criminals carte blanche to do so.
