Colin Bloom has got off to a cracking start in his campaign to become the next MP for Erith & Thamesmead. It seems that Labour is doing everything they can to help him.
Firstly the current semi-detached Labour MP, John Austin, has become completely detached from the seat and the selection for his replacement has descended into a complete farce. I'm sure that local Labour members will be torn between nepotism and cronyism, still it's nice to have a choice.

Bloom vs Gould, it's a total mismatch and takes me back to the 25th November 1983 and the Larry Holmes vs Marvis Frazier World Heavyweight title fight. Holmes was an outstanding champion and an experienced veteran, much like Colin Bloom. Frazier was a novice, had done virtually nothing and was trading on the family name (sound familiar, Miss Gould?!!!).
We all know the result of the fight, a brilliant first round KO for the underrated great.
My prediction if Miss Gould is parachuted in is that the brilliant political mind of Colin Bloom will destroy this political pygmy. Total mismatch.
