Congratulations James on a superb victory, a new job and a great new Boss!
Well deserved James ... Ralph
Brilliant campaign, James. After seeing the B&B results I had to come over and congratulate you.
Many congratulations James - a record majority! Looking forward to working with you on parochial matters. Now, about those TfL road works in Coney Hall ....
Hurrah!Very many congratulations James from all your team in Beckenham. Best wishesPS Time to change the description from candidate to MEMBER.
Bravo James. A most deserved victory. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the size of your majority. Could your 58,000 majority be the biggest in British political history? No MP would be able to boast of a bigger win. Good luck. And tell Kwasi Kwarteng (who, I gather, didn't get in on the North East list) to get to Henley for the by-election. He would make a great candidate. Get Boris to recommend him.
Congratulations on your great victory - it was great campaigning with you!
James - I met you at a Chinese restaurant after one of Guido's parties, and at the time I thought you'd make a fantastic elected official. Although not a Tory, I am delighted that you have been returned with such a huge majority, and look forward to having someone of such obvious integrity and character in the GLA. Good luck in your new job!
Please update the description of this blog:The personal blog of James Cleverly, Conservative London Assembly candidate for Bexley and BromleyWhat complete rubbish. You are not a candidate anymore, you are a member!
James, many congratulations on this truly convincing victory. I wish you and the team every success for the future and now the work starts:) Tony R
Congratulations James and well done to all your team. Now the real hard work starts! Please keep up the blogging and give us an insight into how the GLA works - something which "ornery" voters have lacked in previous terms.
A perfect end, to a perfect day!
CharlesojThe majority was even better than you thought - 75000! The 58% refers to percentage of Boris's majority that the 120000 votes in Bexley-Bromley represents.James's share of the vote was the second highest in London by a fraction of apercentage from West Central.
