Do all left wing politicians hate the armed forces?

My views on Rt Hon Des Browne MP are fairly well known to regular readers of this blog, but the contempt displayed towards US troops by ex presidential candidate John Kerry are beyond belief.

These men and women are putting their lives at risk in a volunteer army and he basically called them stupid. Well it has back-fired pretty dramatically, who looks the most stupid now?

He shouldn't have said it - no. Statistically though, at NCO level and below, it has some validity.

Can I refer you to the comments you made earlier this week?

If people want straight talking politicians they will also have to accept that just like their mates and colleagues they will sometimes put their feet in their mouths. This shouldn't be the trigger for a witch hunt.

So much for you backing straight-talking politicians who are trying to extol the virtues of education to a nation that elected a draft-dodging imbecile to the post of president.

I feel your comments are slightly hypocritical.

This sounds like a foot-in-mouth job. I suspect he's attacking the war rather than the forces proscuting it. However, it does make hime sound like kn*b!

Fair point Jimmy,

But these were particularly ill advised words.
